The high-plateau is also considered the top location for Via Ferrata tours in Austria. More than 20 wonderful Via Ferratas and mountaineering tours will reward you with breathtaking views extending down to the Czech Republic or the Triglav mountains of Slovenia.
On the Dachstein glacier at 2,700 m above sea level, World Cup professionals and ambitious amateur athletes train on up to 15 km of groomed glacier trails. Ramsau is a popular training center for Nordic sports teams, especially in autumn. In addition, glacier hiking trails, ski tour options, the Dachstein Sky Walk, Ice Palace, the suspension bridge and many other attractions offer a variety of activities for a varied and unique holiday in Ramsau am Dachstein.
Spring Festival
June 8th to 9th, 2024
In 2024, the Spring Festival of Horses will take place again in Ramsau am Dachstein. Lovingly arranged flower figures, carriages pulled by magnificently decorated horses and a non-motorized parade that is unique in Austria enrich the festival program. Of course, the supporting program also includes a lot of traditional costume and tradition.

Nordic Performance Center
Ramsau am Dachstein is a centre for top athletes all-year-round - be it for indoor or outdoor training. The Nordic Showcase Centre with performance diagnostics, sports medicine, and coaching, meets the athletes’ highest requirements. The centre is not only open to professionals but also to amateur athletes and guests.
The Performance Centre offers a nine-metre high climbing tower, with different routes up to difficulty level 9, a gym as well as a medical assessment area for testing physical performance and training control.
However, the centrepiece is a treadmill suitable for ski rollers with adjustable velocity and gradient. On the 4.5 x 3 m running tread, Olympic trails can be simulated here.
